Feng Shui Cure Tips
According to each period the quality of Chi is changed and cures must be placed accordingly. Cures are mostly elemental based : Water, Earth, Metal, Wood and Fire. Elements can either destroy each other, like water puts out fire, or help and enhance each other, or even neutralize one another. The key with the elements is to create harmony. You don't want to destroy any other element but rather weaken it. Visit Feng Shui elements page for more information.
An example of each elemental cure would be:
Water: Fountains, Pools, Lakes, Oceans, Wavy Objects. Black or blue color.
Wood: Wooden tall objects, Bamboos, Plants. Green color.
Fire: Pointy objects, Candles. Colors of Red, pink, orange and purple.
Earth: Ceramics, Crystals. Brown, yellow and taupe colors.
Metal: Metallic objects like Steel, Gold, Bronze, Round Shape. White, gold and silver colors.
When considering the elemental cures, one can go crazy figuring out the exact nature of a cure. Lets take a look at a rectangular red mat at the front door. Is it earth or fire? or both? It is in fact both but in this case the color Red will take over the Earth and can be considered a Fire cure mostly.
When considering cures in Feng Shui, you must keep some rules in mind.
The chosen cure must be the right size and proportion. For example, a small fountain on a large wall will not look as good, neither is a large fountain on a small wall. Keep the ratios in mind.
Be cautious with the color red, it is a very powerful tool in Feng Shui.
Any thing with a curve, usually has preference over a straight line.
If the buildings or structures on the left side of your home are higher or taller than your home, the house is more favourable to the men. Likewise, if the buildings on the right side of you home are taller or higher, then women have more control in that house.
In the Bedroom:
Do not sleep with your legs / bed facing the door directly.
Do not position your bed anywhere directly across the door.
Do not position your bed under a window.
It is better not to have large Mirrors in the bedroom. They reflect too much yang energy and are not suitable for a good night sleep!
Try to have your environment neat and tidy.
TIP: Mirrors are not used in authentic Feng Shui as a cure.
Entrance Door:
Having a straight stair case facing an entrance door is not good for keeping the Chi inside. Make sure the stairs are not facing your doors directly. Neither should you have your front door facing another window directly. In either case, you need to make a partition or depending on the stars in the area, you can place a sturdy indoor plant.
Did you know that your entrance door, may not necessarily be the facing of your house!
Metal Cure:
For Metal Cure, unless you are a wind-chime fan, try a chiming grand father clock. It is classy, it is beautiful and most of all effective.
Water Cure:
The most effective water cure, is the moving water such as a fountain or a pool. However, the location of it is very critical. Places with 8 water star benefit most from the fountain.
Fire Cure:
For Fire cure, color of Red is very effective either in paintings or rugs or any other objects.
Finally, avoid clutter in your environment.
